This guide tells you how to use the Dictanote Pro features. To upgrade, refer to What is Dictanote Pro and how to upgrade.
1. Custom voice commands
Custom voice commands correct frequent dictation errors and type long text when you say a short phrase. Examples:
- A doctor says "insert knee exam". Dictanote types a full knee exam template.
- A support agent says "refund issued". Dictanote types a message that tells the customer about the refund.
- In the sidebar, click Voice commands.
- Click Custom Commands.
- Type the phrase in Say This and the text in To Insert This.
- Click Add new command.
For more information, refer to How to set up voice commands.
2. Unlimited notes and notebooks
Use notebooks to keep your notes in groups. For example, use one notebook for each project or client.
- In the sidebar, click + next to Notebooks.
- Type a name for the notebook.
- Click Create.
3. Images in notes
You can add images to your notes. Dictanote keeps the images on its secure servers.
- Open a note.
- In the editor toolbar, click More (…).
- Click the Image button.
- Select the image and click Save.
NOTE: You can also paste an image into a note, or drag an image into a note.
4. Unlimited dictation
Pro has no daily limit for dictation. The microphone does not stop after 20 seconds of silence. To set the time after which the microphone stops, open Settings and change Dictation Timeout. Set it to 0 to never stop automatically.
5. Password-protected notes
You can lock a note with a password. Open the note, click the menu (⋮) at the top right, and select Lock Note.
6. Transcribe
Transcribe changes audio files into text for $0.10 each minute. It adds punctuation automatically. Click Transcribe in the sidebar, or go to dictanote.co/transcribe.
